When your UAE employment visa is cancelled, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsor, transfer visas, or arrange your departure. Here's how to use that time well.
Week by Week
Week 1 (Days 1–7) — Get your paperwork: end-of-service letter, experience certificate, and confirm your gratuity entitlement in writing
Week 2 (Days 8–14) — Update your CV, activate LinkedIn, and start applying. The first two weeks get the most responses.
Week 3 (Days 15–21) — Expand your search and reach out to your network directly. Not "just wanted to connect" — specific asks.
Week 4–5 (Days 22–35) — Follow up on applications, attend interviews, explore freelance or contract roles as a bridge.
Week 6–8 (Days 36–60) — Decision time: new offer, visa transfer, freelance licence, or plan your exit.
Important Notes
The 60-day clock starts from visa cancellation date, not your last working day
You can legally work on a new employment offer during the grace period
